Shawn Wallace

Shawn Wallace is a seasoned engineering executive with over three decades of experience in the technology sector. Currently, he serves as the Head of Engineering at ClearyX, where he oversees the company’s software engineering strategy and drives the development of bespoke solutions that integrate third-party software to enhance operational efficiency.

Throughout his career, Shawn has demonstrated exceptional leadership in building and managing high-performance engineering teams across various industries, including consumer technology, security, and gaming. His tenure at Google was marked by significant achievements, such as the successful launch of Google Wifi and Google Stadia, and leading initiatives that saved the company millions annually by improving engineering productivity. He hired, scaled, and led large engineering teams and was instrumental in implementing Agile methodologies to transform team performance.

His professional journey also includes impactful roles at Blackberry and McAfee, where he introduced Agile practices and led development teams to deliver world-class security software used by millions globally. As a co-founder of several startups, he gained entrepreneurial experience, driving product vision and strategy for successful web technologies startups.

Shawn’s expertise extends beyond technical leadership to strategic planning, budget management, and fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. He has been an active member of diversity councils and spearheaded programs to increase intern representation and support underrepresented groups in STEM fields.  His commitment was rewarded as a two-time recipient of the prestigious Google Citizenship Award.

A passionate advocate for youth in technology, Shawn co-founded the Kitchener-Waterloo Youth Robotics organization, mentoring young minds in STEM and helping them pursue careers in engineering and technology.

Shawn holds a Master of Engineering specializing in Software Engineering from the University of Waterloo, a Bachelor of Computer Science with Honours from Acadia University, and a Small Business Management Diploma from Mohawk College. He is also a Certified Scrum Master and Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional.
