Sydney Young is the General Counsel at ClearyX. She brings extensive experience in commercial and intellectual property matters, complex agreements, and strategic transactions, with a particular focus on technology, emerging and high-growth businesses. Sydney’s experience includes drafting and negotiating licensing, SaaS, services, subscription, development, and other commercial agreements, as well as advising on the intellectual property and commercial aspects of mergers and acquisitions, financings, and restructurings. She also has significant experience in trademark and brand strategy, prosecution, portfolio management, and enforcement.
Prior to joining ClearyX, Sydney practiced commercial and intellectual property law at a major Canadian firm, and held in-house legal and business affairs roles, advising on complex licensing, commercial and corporate matters. She has also handled trademark and copyright disputes and appeared before the Federal Court of Appeal, Federal Court, Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and Trademarks Opposition Board.
Sydney has been recognized as “One to Watch” by Best Lawyers in Canada for 2024 and 2025 and a Rising Star in Canada by Managing IP every year for the past 6 years.
