Deborah is a licensed lawyer with a strong background in transactional law and legal consulting. With experience spanning multiple jurisdictions, Deborah brings a unique perspective and expertise to her work. Before joining ClearyX, she worked as a Transaction Services Lawyer at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, where she was responsible for due diligence review, summarizing and analyzing agreements related to public and private mergers & acquisitions and securities offerings.

Deborah completed her Law Practice Program (LPP) Candidate at Ryerson University in Toronto and holds a Master of Laws degree in Energy and Natural Resources from Queen Mary University of London. She also obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Lagos in Nigeria. In addition to her legal education, Deborah has pursued further certifications, including a Paralegal Graduate Certificate from Humber College and a Certificate of Achievement in Online Negotiation Course from the University of Windsor.

Deborah has gained valuable experience in various legal positions. As a Senior Officer at the Canadian Union of Public Employees, she provided sound legal advice and support in negotiations between the union and employers, representation votes, grievance settlement negotiations and workplace sexual harassment matters.

In Nigeria, Deborah served as Legal Consultant in Transaction Services at Meristem Wealth Management Limited. She was involved in contract negotiations for energy projects and provided legal advice on private equity investments. Deborah conducted due diligence on solar energy and electric meter implementation efforts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and proper utilization of funds.

Deborah is an active member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers. Her diverse experience and commitment to the legal profession make her a valuable addition to the ClearyX team.
